Book Spotlight feat. Minute Zero-I Read Book Tour-Giveaway
I have not read this book.
Spotlights were only offered for this tour
About the book
When the world ends in a heartbeat, suddenly old secrets don’t matter anymore. But new ones still do, and protecting the ones you love is the only thing that still remains.
Two sisters, one a trendy caterer on the run from a vicious killer, the other a country midwife. Because of a simple mistake, Lori Dovner must flee from the vicious mafioso Raoul Saldata, and her life goes from routine day to terrifying journey in a single moment. On the road with her two children, her only goal is to get to her sister’s Montana farm alive. But both Lori and Louise have been hiding a devastating secret for years.
Two brothers, one a Navy Seal on leave, the other a good man who wants to do right by his family. Captain Deacon Hale is taking two weeks to help his brother Roger and his wife Louise on their remote Montana farm. He loved Lori once, but has finally put her behind him. Roger Hale just wants to give his pregnant wife and two young children a good life. He has no idea about the betrayals that have been hidden from him.
Dangerous identity.
Angela Jones is an FBI agent with a terrible debt that she knows she will someday have to pay. And when Raoul Saldata calls in that marker she has no choice but to comply.
Evil incarnate.
Raoul Saldata as a child in Albania, would pretend he was a dhampir, the offspring resulting from the mating between a human female and a vampire. A myth of course, but the evil Saldata practices is anything but. And when he finds Lori Dovner, he intends to do a lot more than just kill her.
MINUTE ZERO (Stronghold: Book One) is an apocalyptic EMP thriller (with a touch of romance) about an ordinary family struggling to stay safe and find each other in the face of insurmountable odds, an abysmal loss of life and the dawn of a new, post-apocalyptic dark age.

Murder In The Bayou Boneyard by Ellen Byron-Great Escapes Tour-Review/Giveaway
Maggie Crozat, proprietor of a historic Cajun Country B&B, prefers to let the good times roll. But hard times rock her hostelry when a new cell phone app makes it easy for locals to rent their spare rooms to tourists. With October–and Halloween–approaching, she conjures up a witch-crafty marketing scheme to draw visitors to Pelican, Louisiana.
Five local plantation B&Bs host “Pelican’s Spooky Past” packages, featuring regional crafts, unique menus, and a pet costume parade. Topping it off, the derelict Dupois cemetery is the suitably sepulchral setting for the spine-chilling play Resurrection of a Spirit. But all the witchcraft has inevitably conjured something: her B&B guests are being terrified out of town by sightings of the legendary rougarou, a cross between a werewolf and vampire.
When, in the Dupois cemetery, someone costumed as a rougarou stumbles onstage during the play–and promptly gives up the ghost, the rougarou mask having been poisoned with strychnine, Maggie is on the case. But as more murders stack up, Maggie fears that Pelican’s spooky past has nothing on its bloodcurdling present.
And I thought . . . I've enjoyed this series from the beginning. I am always 'taken' with the covers. I love the illustration with the family dog taking center stage.
The main characters the Crozart family are fun and endearing. Maggie the main character is always ready to step in and figure out 'what's up' and who the villain is. Even if she gets in a little trouble of her own.
In Murder In The Bayou Boneyard not only does Maggie have to figure out who 'dun it' but she along with the family have to figure out how to keep all their land in the family when a distant relative decides to waltz in with an ages old deed for part of the Cozart property. Which BTW makes the Cozart clan probably suspects when the cousin meets her demise.
Ellen Byron gives the reader a page turning mystery with a few twists and turns that keep you turning the pages.
I always look forward to a new book in this series. Each one has been a great read.
I received a complimentary copy. My review will appear on retail sites and Good Reads. Murder In The Bayou Boneyard and the Great Escapes Tour will be promoted on Social Media.

Jokers Wild by Barbara Barrett-Great Escapes Tour-Review
I felt in Jokers Wild that the author seemed to develop each of the main characters more. At least that is what struck me.
Each book seems to develop the relationships and the characters more and more.
In Jokers Wild the husbands/boyfriends began to do more real sleuthing on their own. In the previous book they had taken to getting into the sleuthing to protect the woman and keep an 'eye' on them. But in this one they were more into helping prove that Marianne had nothing to do with the murder.
If isn't hard to discover a list of suspects from disgruntled co-workers/associates, to ex-lovers that the wives turned a blind eye to or did she?
This group of amateur sleuths is a lively group of retiree's that let no stone go un-turned to solve the mystery and keep each other out of trouble.
I liked that the relationships have developed with the Sheriff with the sleuths and with Kat (Katrina).
This one ended with an excerpt of the next book which is on my
TBR list.
If you like a good cozy with some fun and sometimes kooky sleuths you'll love this series.
I received a complimentary copy.
My review will appear on Amazon and Good Reads.

Checked Out For Murder by Allison Brook -Great Escapes Tour-Review/Giveaway
Sometimes covers beckon you to take a chance and turn the pages. Checked Out For Murder was one that captured my attention. The cover with Smokey Joe the resident library cat beckoned this reader to turn the pages.
This was a good read filled with a bit of drama and murder. I enjoy Carrie and the resident ghost Evelyn.
When 1 murder leads to another Carrie has her hands full trying to get the answers while juggling her romantic life and her moms and her relationship with said mom that is well
strained (?).
I love the small town setting and I really enjoy the library setting. This is a great series. Each book is written as a standalone.
I received a complimentary copy.
My review will appear on retail sites and Good Reads.
