And I thought
I loved it.  I loved Macy, Bo and of course Coal.
Macy was fun and a bit quirky and a born sleuth.  She just can't give it up and let the police do thier work.
Bo was the Bro everyone wants.  Ready and willing to do Macy's bidding, run interferance for her and get her out of trouble which
happens quite frequently as she snoops first trying to find Coal when he's dognapped and then later trying to discover who took him and why and maybe solve a murder or two at the same time.
The Barks & Beans series is just my kind of read.  I love the quain town and the coffee shop/doggie daycare.  It's just the kind of place I want to live although I'd have to have friends like Macy that can make sure if there are any bad guys around the she'll snoop them out.
It is always fun to get into a new series and this one was a pleasure to start.
It is a bit different I think than most cozies Bo has a hidden past that actually comes back to 'bite' him and Macy too and leads into the next book.
I am sure each book is written as a stand a lone but the storyline follows through in the next one there's a kind of cliff hanger at the end.
I am kind of looking forward to seeing if Bo and Macy end up with a little romance.  Maybe a double wedding?

I received a complimentary copy.
My review will appear on Amazon, Good Reads and
No Filter will be featured on social media.

Murder In Wine Country by Janet Finsilver Great Escapes Tour

This is another great mystery but as usual with this series, Kelly and the Silver Sentinels are my favorite part. Kelly is a clever sleuth who does what she needs to in order to track down the killer but is never too reckless. Her friends are all well-developed and unique, and they make a great team.
Murder in the Wine Country by Janet Finsilver is a smooth, easy read with charming characters and a picturesque setting. From exotic plant poaching to murder and everything in between, the mysteries in this cozy keep Kelly & the Sentinels busy and readers on their toes too.
~Reading Is My SuperPower
Murder in the Wine Country is a diverting cozy mystery with foraging for flora, wonderful wines, succulent stealers, valiant veterans, and a perplexing puzzle.
~The Avid Reader
What a great addition to this book wonderful cozy mystery series! . . . a fantastic blend of food, wine tasting, clues, and a variety of characters that create a story readers can really love. A must read for fans of cozy mysteries. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.Visit the tour at Great Escapes

Fireworks, Firecrackers and Foul Play by D.E. Haggerty-Great Escapes Tour-Review

About the book
How do you plan the perfect July 4th wedding with the groom in jail for murder?
Anna is not about to find out. And no way is she getting married in the jail house. Not happening. Instead, she’s off to uncover the actual murderer, because there’s no way her fiancĂ© Logan would hurt anyone. Yeah, sure, he looks kind of intimidating, but he’s a cop. He fights crime. He doesn’t commit it!

Will the gals of Callie’s Cakes solve the mystery before Anna’s wedding is ruined?

Cupcakes not included, although recipes for all the delicious cupcakes Anna bakes are.
And I thought
I love this series.  I have had the chance to read each fun, funny and yummy read.
Each book is written as a stand alone and each one gets better.
No need to start with book 1 . . .  but I will warn you I had a bit of a time in the beginning keeping up with the girls and the guys.  And there are only 3 but they are all so funny and quirky but a bit a like. I couldn't keep straight which was which at first  But it is well worth taking the time to keep them all straight.

I am looking forward to what new mystery the girls will get themselves into.

The guys (the boyfriends are burly hunky men who fight crimes and fires) watch out for the girls sometimes from the background making sure the girls stay of out trouble.  Which is a bit hard to do when they start snooping into murders and crimes.
If you love a good cozy try this series.  Each book is a fast read and will have you turning the pages at break neck speed to get to the end.
I love the series and can't wait for the next one.

Book Spotlight-Nearly Departed by Lesley A. Diehl-Great Escapes Tour-Giveaway

About the book
Tired of sitting surveillance on insurance fraud, apprentice PI Eve Appel Egret gets her first big case, one where the outcome is important and personal. Eve’s best friend Madeleine has few relatives, so her Uncle Shamus is special, but someone is determined to kill him and has tried several times. Eve is certain she can identify who is after him, but this time she may have taken on more than even our self-confident Eve can handle. Coping with a growing toddler and a teenager, devoting time to the consignment shop and finding someone who can go undercover in a sexual harassment case all vie for Eve’s attention. Eve knows she cannot fail Madeleine. This is more than her favorite uncle’s life. His death would mean devastating loss for Madeleine and call into question Eve’s commitment as a friend and her ability as a PI.

And when Erikka turns up dead, the Sheriff turns up the heat on Katie and Andy, certain that one of them is to blame. But Erikka wasn’t pregnant after all. Was Erikka’s misconception the only way she could conceive of stealing Andy from Katie?
When Katie finds planted evidence, it’s her friend and former detective, Ray, who insists on concealing it. Is it his growing affection for her that causes him to act against his training and code of ethics, or could he be responsible for Erikka’s death? Katie is afraid to find out.
