A Nanny For Christmas by Lenora Worth

About the book
A winter wonderland provides the perfect holiday setting—but only if they can find a way to unwrap their hearts.

When event planner Kara Benton walks into her latest client’s home and is mistaken for the new nanny, she impulsively says yes. Kara’s determined to elevate her career, and saving a high profile holiday party just weeks before Christmas is the perfect solution. Suddenly she’s saddled with two adorable kids, one excited dog, and a huge dilemma: can she pull off both jobs?

Widower Richard Westfield may be a whiz at designing top-of-the-line security technology, but he’s flummoxed as to how to protect his kids and his heart from taking another emotional hit. He strikes a deal with Kara: she’ll work her organizational magic if he’ll make an effort to find his footing as a father again.

But as they team up to return the Christmas spirit to his Colorado mountain chateau, sparks fly and Kara realizes she needs to let go of her own pain to embrace the love she's beginning to feel in her heart.

And I thought
What a great read!
A sweet love story with everything I love.
No drama.  Great characters. And a cute dog stealing the show occasionally.

Great Christmas traditions like Cookie baking and finding the perfect tree in the forest to replace the 12 foot one that couldn't be delivered because of the snow storm.

An almost ball with a Cinderella gown.

And a Happy Ending.

I loved the characters.  Kara was just an amazing event planner and quite possibly an even better Nanny.  But she isn't meant to be a Nanny.

I don't really need to give any spoilers it is easy to figure out this one ends Happily Ever After.

But not until the kids Ricky and Maxie work out their feelings about loosing their 'real mommy'.
In steps in Kara who also lost her mom and ended up helping her dad raise the younger siblings giving her an edge to deal with and help Ricky and Maxie.  And their brooding dad.

Thank you Lenora Worth for providing me with an ARC copy.

About the book
Autumn in Blossom Valley means pumpkin patches are ripe and Winona Mae Montgomery and her Granny Smythe’s cider shop is flourishing. But with this season comes . . .

A FATAL HARVEST

The Fall Festival is in full swing. Civil War reenactors from three counties are partaking in Blossom Valley’s tribute to John Brown. Blue Ridge Mountain foliage is in full bloom. And best of all is Jacob Potter’s pumpkin farm where his hay rides, piglet races, pumpkin picking and corn maze are time-honored draws for locals and tourists alike. That’s why it’s such a shock when Mr. Potter is found dead, hidden under a tarp in the back of Winnie’s pickup truck. This certainly betrays Potter’s reputation as one of the town’s most popular citizens. Fortunately, when it comes to solving a murder, no one has a patch on Winnie. Now, all eyes are on her to do it. Unfortunately, that includes those of the killer who’ll do anything to keep an orchard full of secrets buried.

About the book
Lily has her work cut out for her when a visit from her grandmother Rose’s dear friend, Sandra McHenry, turns into an unexpected—and unpleasant—McHenry family reunion. The squabbling boils over and soon Tea by the Sea’s serene afternoon service resembles the proverbial tempest in a teapot. Somehow, Lily and her tearoom survive the storm, and Sandra’s bickering brethren finally retreat to Rose’s B&B. But later that evening, a member of their party—curmudgeonly Ed French—dies from an apparent poisoning and suddenly Tea by the Sea is both scene and suspect in a murder investigation!

Mercifully, none of the other guests fall ill. They all ate the same food, but Ed always insisted on bringing his own special blend of herbal teas. So it seems, amid the whining and dining, someone snuck up to one of Lily’s cherished teapots and fatally spiked Ed’s bespoke brew, but who? Was it Ed’s long-estranged sister-in-law? Did teenage troublemaker Tyler take a prank too far? Or perhaps the family’s feuds have been steeping for longer than anyone realizes? It’s up to Lily, Rose, and their friends to get to the bottom of the poisoned pot and bag the real culprit behind the kettle murder plot.

After we uncovered some evidence of blackmail and head on over to tell Jason what we found out. . .we found out something alright. The true killer got to Jason first.

Mailbox Monday Meet Author Sharon Michaels

I am an Amazon Bestselling Author. I’ve been writing and publishing non-fiction for over twenty years. It wasn’t until recently I gave myself permission to publish fiction. I guess I was too worried about my imaginary stories being judged. For a “recovering perfectionist” the potential of being judged has been a difficult hurdle to overcome.

Today I happily write in the cactus filled desert of the southwest United States. My extremely supportive husband and I love traveling and exploring the beauty of our country. As I travel I write fun and interesting things in my notebook so I can share these memories with you in stories and books.

I have an exclusive reader’s group on Facebook – Chatting with Sharon where I post fun and interesting things daily.

Sand Trapped by Joanna Campbell Slan Great Escapes Tour

About the book

A Cozy Mystery That’s a Real Hit!

First they warned Jocelyn Johnson.

Then they ticketed Jocelyn Johnson.

Then someone murdered Jocelyn Johnson.

And Cara Mia Delgatto was looking for a lost ball when found Jocelyn “JJ” Johnson face down in a sand trap. Gave a whole new meaning to “take a drop.”

It wasn’t a surprise. The neighbors hated JJ for the reckless way she drove her golf cart. Sure, she lived on the grounds of a swanky golf club, and yes, she had tons of money, but JJ ruined flowerbeds, terrorized grandkids, and made a nuisance of herself.

Except…except…she’s quiet now. Lying there in the dirt at Hole #6. Someone bashed in JJ’s head. (Who would risk ruining an expensive Homna golf club like that?)

Cara doesn’t want to get involved. But when Gerta Hunsickler is named the prime suspect, and Gerta’s husband is so angry at his wife that he’s starting divorce proceedings, Cara can’t sit on her hands. She knows what it’s like to be unfairly accused. So she promises to take a swing at it and see if she can hit a long drive down the fairway of justice!

Meanwhile, back at The Treasure Chest, Cara’s friends are busy creating fabulous and fun Mother’s Day gifts. There are two brides-to-be working for Cara, and their two mothers-in-law-to-be have decided not to play nice. Can you say, “Mama’s boy” ten times really fast? I thought you could.

If you love warm-hearted, clean books, that feature female amateur sleuths, fur babies, family, and friends, you’ll love this charming DIY/recycling/upcycling series set on the Southeast Coast of Florida.

And I thought

What a fun read.  I really enjoyed my introduction to this series!

I love coastal reads.

I was intrigued with to coastal cover!

I love the DIY/recycling/up cycling theme.

Mix in some fun characters and you have the makings of a great read!

So we have a victim that probably more than one person would have liked to whack.

J.J. (the victim)  just didn't get along with anyone.

Then a sleuth that just doesn't want to get involved.

And well a typical plot cuz said sleuths friend becomes the suspect of course our Heroine sleuth main character Cara has to solve the crime.

But Author Joanna Campbell takes the typical to a whole new level and weaves a pleasantly Cozy Mystery that will have you turning the pages.

Check it out for a great beach read or Cozy by the fire read.

Many thanks to the Author and Great be Escapes Tour for introducing me to this fun series.

I can't be wait to read more!

Celebrating Tina by Sara Blackard

About the book

Product Description

A K-9 handler determined to prove she belongs. A detective with an unwavering plan. Can they overcome their painful pasts and accept the gift of love?

Tina West has spent her life feeling like she stood on the outside, but since taking a job at Stryker Security, life seems to be turning for the better.

Tina never imagined when she took a job as a nanny she’d end up training for search and rescue. Yet, when her boss shows up with a retired military dog and the opportunity to train with him, Tina snatches up the chance to help those who are lost. If she saves enough people, maybe she could find meaning in a life that left her with nothing but a bruised heart and a tarnished picture of family. As holiday festivities loom before her, she wonders if she’ll ever shuck the regrets that haunt her dreams and keep her from connecting with others.

Milo Bishop’s every move has been to take care of his mom and younger brother.

Since his father’s murder, Milo has worked hard to make sure his mom and brother were provided for. He joined the police force straight out of high school, took night classes so he could move up to investigator, and put his life on hold until his brother graduated from college. But when he is rescued on Thanksgiving Day by Tina West, his well-laid plans take a sharp detour.

When a series of kidnappings threaten to ruin the holidays, can Tina and Milo put aside their doubts and find the abducted children before it’s too late?

Can Tina trust her instincts when they’re put to the test or will children being harmed hit too close to her past for her to deal with? Will Milo put his desires above his family’s needs when a chance at love catches him by surprise?

If you like nail-biting adventure, fascinating characters, and engaging stories of triumph, you'll love Sara Blackard's riveting romantic suspense.

And I thought

A series that I really like.  I was excited to get the chance to read Celebrating Tina.

Because I enjoy Sara Blackard's stories, plots and characters the books in this series is are always a fast read for me.

I love how many of the characters in the series make Cameo appearances in each book.

The characters in the series are all part of Stryker Security.

Each of the books in the series is a Romantic Suspense featuring one of the characters.

Tina ends up joining the group as a Nanny for Eva who loves Princesses and thinks everyone is a Princess.  She has several Uncle's in the group that she wraps around her finger.

Tina story is as fast paced as all the other books.

The topic of missing children might give you pause but I will give one spoiler . . .

There is a Happy Ending

I enjoyed Celebrating Tina!  I look for ward to the chance to read the books I have missed and the next book in the series.

I received a complimentary copy.

Excerpts of my review will appear on Amazon and Good Reads.

70 Percent Dark Intentions by Amber Royer Great Escapes Tour

About the book
Felicity Koerber’s bean to bar chocolate shop on Galveston’s historic Strand is bringing in plenty of customers – in part due to the notoriety of the recent murder of one of her assistants, which she managed to solve. Things seem to be taking a turn for the better. Her new assistant, Mateo, even gets along with Carmen, the shop’s barista turned pastry chef. Felicity thinks she’s learning to cope with change – right up until one of her friends gets engaged. Everyone’s expecting her to ask Logan, her former bodyguard, to be her plus one. But even the thought of asking out someone else still makes her feel disloyal to her late husband’s memory — so maybe she hasn’t moved on from her husband’s death as much as she thought.

Felicity isn’t planning to contact Logan any time soon. Only, Felicity finds ANOTHER body right outside her shop – making it two murders at Greetings and Felicitations in as many months. That night, Mateo disappears, leaving Felicity to take care of his pet octopus. The police believe that Mateo committed the murder, but Felicity is convinced that, despite the mounting evidence, something more is going on, and Mateo may actually be in trouble.

When Logan assumes that he’s going to help Felicity investigate, she realizes she’s going to have to spend time with him – whether she’s ready to really talk to him or not. Can Felicity find out what happened to Mateo, unmask a killer, and throw an engagement party all at the same time?

And I thought
Up front I have to give my honest opinion.
The cover didn't get me.  I probably would not pick this one up.
If I noticed the author's name I probably would have done a double take and check it out.

So.  Don't judge a book by its cover!

I really enjoy this series.  I joined the Great Escapes Tour because I really liked the first book in the series.

I liked the location when I read book one.

I love the location now that I live on Galveston Island!

And we'll on second thought the covers not so bad because the octopus on the cover turned out to be rather charming.  If octopus's can be charming.

Once again Amber Royer created a page turning mystery that keeps you guessing.

Felicity is a fun character.  She can't help getting mixed up in trouble.  It kind of seems to follow her.

And she seems to stumble into dead bodies.  Like right on her shops doorstep in this one.

I really enjoyed this one and look forward to the next one.

I received a complimentary copy.

The Moonshine Shack Murder by Diane Kelly Great Escapes Tour Review

About the book

In this intoxicating new cozy mystery series, the future for modern-day moonshiner Hattie Hayes looks bright–until death darkens the doorstep of her Moonshine Shack.

The Hayes family has made moonshine in Chattanooga since the days of Prohibition, and Hattie is happy to continue the tradition, serving up fun, fruity flavors in mason jars for locals and tourists alike. All signs indicate her new ‘shine shop will be a smashing success. What’s more, mounted police officer Marlon Landers has taken a shine to Hattie. For the first time ever, the stars seemed to have aligned in both her work and romantic life. But when a body ends up on her store’s doorstep alongside a broken jar of her Firefly Moonshine, it just might be lights out for her fledgling business.

The homicide detective can’t seem to identify the person who killed the owner of a nearby bar. The only witness is Hattie’s longhaired gray cat, and Smoky isn’t talking. When the detective learns that the victim and Hattie had a heated exchange shortly before his murder, she becomes her prime suspect.

Lest Hattie end up behind bars like her bootlegging great-grandfather a century before, she must distill the evidence herself and serve the killer a swift shot of justice.

And I thought . . .

Oh boy a new Cozy by a favorite author.  No bias here.  Well not much

I was so excited to to get the chance to be on The Great Escapes Tour and feature Diane Kelly"s new book.

I wasn't too sure about the Moonshine theme but Moonshine is the  rage now and I knew this Author would give us a good 'ole mystery, and maybe a little suspense.  And best of all some charming characters and a charming town.

The main character Hattie is a sweetie.   But she can stand up and dig up evidence when need be especially to keep herself out of jail.

There's the beginnings of a little romance with the mounted police office Marlon.

And then there's Hattie's grand daddy that comes over from the Senior home and hangs out at the Moonshine Shack entertaining this trader.

I love to get into a new series.

But the waiting for the next one leaves me anxious maybe in need of a little 'Shine to soothe the spirit.

I received a Complimentary copy.

New Releases That Caught My Eye

Sharing a few of the new Releases that I might check out.

A few that I am kind of on the fence on but you might like.

Don't listen to me.  I get so many offers to read that it's become necessary to be more discerning.

Check these out for yourself.  All are available on Amazon.  I will add links as they are available.

My criteria for reading is posted below . . .

A Hex for Danger by Esme Addison (Cozy)

The small town of Bellamy Bay has its share of skeletons in its closet, but it isn’t used to bodies turning up in the local history museum. After all, this coastal North Carolina town is much like any other. . .except, of course, for the mermaids.

Midnight Spells Murder by Mary Angela (Cozy)

To celebrate Halloween at the Happy Camper, Zo schedules a talk by successful author and self-proclaimed witch Marianne Morgan. Although Marianne’s benign brand of witchcraft is more about feminine empowerment than black magic, her presence is still not welcomed by everyone. Then on a midnight stroll home, Zo spots what seems to be a new Halloween decoration propped up outside the Happy Camper.

Murder at the Lakeside Library by Holly Danvers (Cozy) *new series*

Rain Wilmot has just returned to her family’s waterfront log cabin in Lofty Pines, Wisconsin after the untimely death of her husband. The cabin is peaceful compared to Rain’s corporate job and comes with an informal library that Rain’s mother, Willow, used to run. But as Rain prepares for the re-opening of the library, all hopes for a peaceful life are shattered when she discovers the body of Thornton Hughes, a real estate buyer, on the premises.

A Spirit Seeks Asylum by Lena Gregory (Cozy)

The old abandoned buildings of the Twin Forks Lunatic Asylum have always fascinated and frightened clairvoyant Cass Donovan, but she never dreamed her psychic abilities would be put to the test there. My criteria . . .

I do like  some Thrillers and most Suspense.

I don't care for Paranormal.

And I am a cover snob.

I am super lucky about covers.

I suggest you ignore the cover.  Even though most if the time I don't which is my loss.
