Read book one of this heartwarming Christian romance series and discover how love brings light and life to dispel desperation.

And I thought

The cover.  I love covers.  And I admit . . .

I am picky.  If the cover doesn't 'get me' I probably won't pick it up.

Well this cover worked it's magic!

The Mountain of Regret is just what the cover depicts a good sweet Romance.

I love the chance to read a Christian Romance.  One that has a subtle message that anyone will want to read.

Laura Domino gives the reader not only great characters but a fast paced storyline that will keep you turning the pages.

I am expecting a great series!

I received complimentary copy.

My review will appear on Amazon and Good Reads.

The Mountain of Regret will also be featured My Journey Back the Journey and on Facebook.

Justice for Ginger by Annee Jones My Review

About the book

Five years ago, Ginger Carlyle turned down a marriage proposal that everyone, including Jacob Noble, thought she would agree to.

Five years ago, Jacob Noble took a job in a northern California mining town that he hoped would help him to forget the love he’d left behind in Ashton. But there was no way he could forget Ginger, or his own broken heart.

Back in Ashton, Ginger has been beset by tragedy after tragedy. After her father’s death, she is the only one who can care for her ailing mother and manage the family house and land. But hard work isn’t enough when the bank comes looking for the mortgage payments. Unable to tell her mother the truth about their dire financial circumstances, Ginger will have to work even harder to make sure that their Thanksgiving holiday is as joyful as it always was when her father was alive.

However, after Ginger is accused of stealing from her new employer, her whole world is turned upside down. She's dragged to the sheriff’s office where she's shocked to discover the new deputy is none other than the very man whose proposal she turned down all those years ago.

As the past is re-visited and secrets come to light, is there hope that justice will be Ginger's in time for Thanksgiving

And I thought

Even though this was an 80 page short read I can easily say I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

I don't normally really like such short books but Annee Jones made a believer out of me.

The characters and the plot easily drew me in.

Ginger was a sweet young woman trying hard to do the right thing by her mom after her father unexpectedly passed away.

Even though she regretted not accepting a marriage proposal from Jacob whom she really loved she knew she could not leave town with him and abandon her parents.

Which ultimately ended up being a wise decision.

Because Jacob is back and more than willing much to Gingers surprise to pick up where they left off.

Even though he arrives in town just in time to help Ginger out of a bit of drama and a sticky situation.

Ginger not only gets Justice but a Happily Ever After.

And I like that.

I received a complimentary copy.

My review will appear on Amazon and Good Reads.

I look forward to reading more in this series.

Christmas Crime Cover-Up by Dana Mentink My Review

About the book

A violent attack

Isn’t the homecoming she expected.

When an ATV tries to run her down in Death Valley, animal rescuer Nora Duke knows it’s a sign she never should have returned. Now she’s stuck on Seth Castillo’s ranch until Christmas with a pregnant donkey—and a criminal desperate to silence her. Facing her past is as terrifying as uncovering a killer’s twisted plan. But can Seth convince her to stay…if they live through the holidays?

From Love Inspired Suspense: Courage. Danger. Faith.

The series

Desert Justice

Book 1: Framed in Death Valley

Book 2: Missing in the Desert

Book 3: Death Valley Double Cross

Book 4: Death Valley Hideout

Book 5: Christmas Crime Cover-Up

Book 6: Targeted in the Desert

And I thought

This series has just been so fun to read.  I have only read a couple but each one seems to be better than the last for a few reasons I am sure!

First the Suspense starts from page one and continues with twists and turns to the end.  Almost a nail bitter!  But in a good way.

No languages. No graphics.

No bedroom scenes.

Dana Mentink is a favorite author of mine because she writes great suspenseful stories with characters that have no fear to put their faith and trust in God.

I have enjoyed getting to know the Duke clan through this series.

Maybe it was because the story revolved around a pregnant wild miniature donkey and Nora's effort to save them (I love donkeys) but I think the human characters grabbed my heart too.

I am looking forward to reading book #6.  And going back to read a couple others I missed.

I received a complimentary copy.

Once Upon A Royal Christmas by Teri Wilson My Review

About the book

I’m Prince Nikolas of San Glacera. Oh, you’ve never heard of us? Well, you’re not the only one. Our country relies on winter tourism, but we’re attracting fewer and fewer visitors. I admit it’s a problem. I just don’t think the solution is an American who likes to play dress-up.

You see, while I was away on a trip, my younger sister convinced the palace to hold a contest. The winner gets to star in our annual Ice Village festivities and accompany our royal family to holiday events.

And who did they choose? Gracie Clark, who runs a children’s party business and performs as—I kid you not—Princess Snowflake.

Of course, I do respect the fact that she volunteers at children’s hospitals. I suppose to some, she might have a certain charm, but the whole cheap spectacle is beneath our dignity.

I’m not going to shirk my duty to my kingdom. I’ll go to every event with her. At least, once Christmas is over, she’ll be gone.

And I thought

Just what you want.

A dreamy fairy tale story.

A sweet clean romance perfect for Christmas.

Teri Wilson crafted a story that is filled with charm and charming characters that are easy to like.

It was easy to whil away the afternoon listening to a great story.  All the whole wondering what is going to happen next.

Gracie and Nick are perfect.  She's a sweet, strong and independent business owner.  But she struggling hence the reason she ends up in San Glacera.

Prince Nick appears to be grumpy and moody.  And he kind of is but he can't help but show is nicer side when Gracie is around.

She just kind of grows on you.

This is a perfect fairy tale story.

I enjoyed how everything worked out for Gracie to stay in San Glacera.

I couldn't help but wonder  and that Clara might get her own story.

Although I really, really liked the story the narration was hard to like.  The men's voices didn't seem real.  And the voices of the locals and the Royals sounded silly.

I received a complimentary copy through Netgalley.

My review will appear on Amazon and Good Reads.

Murder in the Third Position

 by Lori Robbins

Honor Bound by Hallee Bridgeman My Review

About the book

From the Back Cover

You can't override the heart

It may seem odd to seek peace by moving to a war-torn African country, but for medical missionary Dr. Cynthia Myers, it provided a way to escape a shallow life of unearned wealth, a philandering fiancé, and a father now square in the public eye as vice president of the United States. At least here she knows her work and life have meaning. But all that is thrown into chaos when she fails to save the life of a local warlord's mortally wounded son.

As part of the Army Special Forces A-Team on a mission to capture and subdue the warlord, Captain Rick Norton is compelled to use deadly force to save Cynthia's life. Enraged at the violence she witnessed and riddled with guilt that men died because of her, Cynthia doesn't want to like anything about Rick and his team--but an unexpected attraction is taking hold.

With two members of his team badly injured and rebels in hot pursuit, Rick will have to draw upon all his strength and cunning to get her out alive . . . because he's beginning to think that, despite their differences, they just may be able to make a life together.

And I thought

It's refreshing to read a book with characters that just make you like them.

Most of the time it is easy to like the main characters because we'll we're kind of supposed to at least that is what the authors hope.

But when you really like the sun characters and their personal stories it extra special.

Author Hallee Bridgman weaves an exciting story that keeps you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages.

I liked that the characters were not afraid to share thier Faith with each other.

I didn't want it to end but I was looking forward to a happy ending.

I looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series.

I received a complimentary copy from Net Galley.

My review will appear on  Amazon, Net Galley and Good Reads.

Waves of Doubt by Nancy Mehl with Shawn Layle My Review

About the book

Virginia is a scholar of the Vineyard history as well as a recluse. The island is abuzz when she books a library lecture with a local eccentric. The evening of the event Virginia is a no show. The valuable museum artifacts in her possession are also missing. As Priscilla delves into Virginia's mystery another puzzle emerges involving a cemetery.

And I thought

What a fun page turner!  This is the first chance I have had to read the work of Co Authors Nancy Mehl and Shawn Layle.   What a team they are!  A Mother/Daughter in Law no less.

Together they wive a story/plot that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I went fr wondering if the missing historian was in hiding, abducted or well surely not . . .

The cover is great and drew me to my own conclusions.  Did she ended falling in the ocean or maybe she was pushed!

I enjoy the mystery revolving the disappearance of Virginia and the Chicken Ladies artifacts.

There are lots of twists and turns and subplots that keep you guessing.

I loved the island locale and the locals you meet.

All the mysteries get solved in the end.

I especially like that authors included a recipe which I will be trying soon.

I learned when I received the ARC that the book is published by Guideposts.

My review will appear on Amazon and Good Reads.
