About the book
It’s Mardi Gras season in New Orleans, but PI Franki Amato has too many problems to celebrate. A proven Sicilian lemon tradition hasn’t landed her a proposal, so her nonna has amped up the meddling to get her married, and pronto. Franki’s also under pressure to solve the strange murder of a family friend’s nephew, Nick Pescatore, who was found on a Mississippi River steamboat rumored to be haunted. When the sinister old boat sets sail on an overnight gambling cruise, Franki goes undercover with a motley crew, including a Mark Twainophile captain with a murderous past and a slimy galley chef with a mobster brother, not to mention an ex-stripper landlady with a newfound career as a memoir writer and all-too public speaker. Franki has to figure out what missing Civil War gold, a playing card, and a mysterious woman on roller skates have to do with Nick’s death. If she doesn’t, it’s anchors aweigh for Franki—down to Davy Jones’ locker.
And others are saying
Enough to keep any reader engaged – and smiling, if not laughing . . . As with others in this series, a cozy mystery plus humor provides for a pleasant escape from everyday stress.

And I thought it was great . . .
A light hearted cozy read that had me giggling and down right laughing what with the Italian family banter and then the Senior Citizen landlady ex-stripper I was turning the pages with a smile on my face.
Tracy Andrighetti gives the reader a great group of characters, a great storyline and a great setting.
I am not sure which character I like best and I'd have to say I liked
loved them all. Even the bad guy I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.
Luckily for Franki a murder and kidnapping distract her Nonna (Italian Grandma) from her quest to get Franki engaged by her birthday.
Franki has plenty of help (more than she needs) solving the mystery(s) when her grandma's beau gets snatched at his nephews funeral by the Italian mob. The Nonna's grieving and mourning is put on hold while the Nonna's (I lost count) begin their own style of sleuthing to find Luigi. As the Nonna's set up their command center in the Dressing Room apartment of the ex stripper landlady Franki goes undercover sets out to solve the murder and find Luigi before her birthday.
I enjoyed the New Orleans setting. I also enjoyed the references to old t.v. shows and actors brought back some memories.
The includes some recipes at the end including the Harvey Wallbanger and the interesting story about how it was created.
Galliano gold is the 5th book in the Franki Amato Myster series.
Each book is written as a stand alone. I found book 5 easy to read and the characters even though there are a lot of them were easy to meet and keep straight. (except for all the Nonna's) I am not sure
Franki can keep straight who is who.
Books 1 thru 4 in the series are on my TBR list.
I received a complimentary copy.
My review will appear on Amazon, Good Reads and promoted on social media.
