October 6 – My Reading Journeys – REVIEW
About the bookSummer in Deep Lakes sprouts a homegrown murder on the O’Connor farm. Frankie Champagne’s hunt for clues lands her deep in sheep doo-doo, especially after rare stones surface in unexpected places. Crime-solving is no picnic for the baker/vintner as she hops from farm to field to bakery, trying to keep up with the tourist season and track a killer, too.
And I thought
I enjoyed this book!
I enjoy Great Escapes Book Tours because it gives me a chance to read a book that I might not pick up otherwise.
The cover and title did not draw me in.
After I read a little and caught myself wanting to turn the pages I kept wonder about the cover and why I disliked it.
I was enjoying meeting the characters.
I liked "Frankie" from the beautiful. "Frankie" is a smart and talented cookie. I was fascinated with her bakery/wine lounge concept. And I must give author Joy Ann Ribar a thumbs up for coming up with such a clever job for our girl "Frankie"!
And an interesting choice for a boyfriend. The town coroner has our girls heart.
Joy Ann Ribar has created a page turning Cozy that kept intrigued to the end.
And then I had to figure out that cover! I looked at the earlier books in the series and then suddenly that cover grew on me. Together they lured me in wanting more.
This series is one I will want in copies for my library. Added to my wish list.
I received a complimentary copy.
My Review will appear on Amazon and Good Reads.
