About the book
parrot with a nose for trouble, a deadly bite of chocolate, and a mystery no one saw coming…
For Hillary Sheridan and her daughter Annabelle, the picturesque town of Rosemary Harbor seemed like the perfect place to start fresh. Between running their gift basket shop and keeping Hillary’s late husband’s parrot, Spot, out of mischief, life is finally sweet—until Spot is accused of stealing nuts from the local chocolate shop.
When a young au pair mysteriously collapses after sampling one of the shop’s confections, the idyllic small town is rocked by scandal. The evidence points to poisoned treats—and Hillary’s friend Naomi, the shop’s owner, lands in the hot seat. Determined to save Naomi’s reputation and Spot’s feathers, Hillary dives headfirst into the investigation, uncovering sticky secrets, broken alibis, and one suspicious rival who just might have more to gain from Naomi’s downfall than anyone guessed.
But when Spot squawks about a “dead body” and a dangerous new clue emerges, Hillary realizes the killer isn’t done yet.
Can she crack the case before her peaceful new life melts away—or will her sleuthing put her in the crosshairs?

My review
Book 2 in a fun series. Ai find the series almost quirky with a Parrot as A main character.
Hillary a recent widow has moved to quaint town. Quaint at least till she arrives.
Book 2 was a bit funny. But just a bit too much Infidelity going on. But that was minor it is a clean Cozy Series
A young woman is found dead by said Parrot. She was quite the lady with several men husbands around town.
Hillary the main character has a knack for stumbling onto evidence. And enjoys a good puzzle to solver
The sheriff who wants a More to than friends relationship is frustrated and annoyed with Hillary for sticking her nose in.
But since her mouthy Parrot is accused of stealing the murder weapon how can she not investigate.
I enjoy the series. And look forward to the next book in the series.
I have read in order as book 1
