Hitting it by Kathy Lyons-Book Review-Pure Textuality Tour

About the book
Making it to the Major Leagues is all rookie ballplayer, Rob Lee, has ever dreamed of. But now, he’s a little overwhelmed with his new celebrity status. Everyone wants a piece of the new heavy hitter for the Indianapolis Bobcats. Still, he’s worked hard for it, and he doesn’t have many regrets. Although there is one…
If journalist Heidi Wong wants to keep her job, she needs to come up with a story—fast! That’s why she tells her boss that she knows the Bobcat’s reclusive new slugger, Rob Lee. And she does…in the Biblical sense. During Spring Break three years ago, she and Rob shared a torrid night on the beach. And she’s wanted him again ever since.
But everyone knows reporters and athletes don’t mix. Rob’s contract doesn’t allow him to talk to the press, and her job depends on it. Which is driving them both just a little crazy…
And I thought
Loved it.  The characters were charming.  Even the a bit crazy best friend that sets the stage for the whole brief encounter meeting on
Spring Break.
Heidi and Rob and their friends are all in college and off for a few
days of fun in the sun.
When Heidi is cajoled into entering a wet t-shirt contest she is
spotted by Rob and the rest is almost history!
When Rob asks Heidi out her best friend Sam that caused all the trouble in the first place makes Rob show her his i.d. so she
could take a photo.  Loved the scene.
Rob and Heidi quickly become interested in each other and
end up in Heidi's hotel room.
Doors are left open for the reader.  Mama would hate it but
the jazzy grandma would have enjoyed it!
Yes there are several love scenes.
But the encounter is brief when everyone has to return to school and real life.

3 years later Rob has met his goal and made it to the major league.
Heidi is struggling with her goal of becoming a reporter and ends up getting layed off.  Not before she manages to talk her boss into letting her interview Rob.

Which she finds out is easier said than done.  Oh Rob is all for
it in fact he couldn't be happier.  As soon as the two meet the
sizzle erupts and the smoldering sparks are set a blaze.

A little bit of drama must happen before the two can actually end up with a happily every after.

The ball club won't allow the interview.  The owners daughter has her sites set on Rob.

Just enough outside interference to keep the reader cheering for Rob and Heidi.

I loved Hitting it and I look forward to reading much more from
Kathy Lyons.
