Lethal in Old Lace-by Duffy Brown-Great Escapes Tour-Review/Giveaway

About the book (provided by Great Escapes Tours)
Reagan Summerside returns in national bestselling author Duffy Brown’s fifth Consignment Shop mystery, now for the first time in hardcover.
There are two social functions in Savannah guaranteed to get people talking: weddings and funerals. And just as consignment shop owner Reagan Summerside agrees to marry the hunky Walker Boone, her neighbors, sisters Annie Fritz and Elsie Abbot, step up their business as professional mourners. They are so successful that the Sleepy Pines Retirement Center has hired them as a part of their retirement package. But the celebration over good business is cut short when the residents at Pines suddenly begin dying at an alarming rate. And the sisters are the first suspects.
Reagan has her doubts, however, and begins to look into the strange phenomenon. But then something even stranger happens: a body winds up in the sisters’ pink Caddy. The evidence begins to pile up and the suspicious case of Willie Fishbine, who swindled the sisters out of a fortune and coincidentally died prior to the Pines case, is reopened.
Not wanting Willie to be buried until they can find the killer responsible for the murders, Reagan must catch the culprit in time to walk down the aisle.
And others are saying
Do not be afraid to read and laugh hysterically at this book even if you have not yet read the previous ones in the series. You will fall in love with the setting and characters and BW and then NEED to go back and read the previous books. Look forward to hours of escape and enjoyment.

I love this story! I can honestly say that I’ve never read anything like Lethal in Old Lace, and it just might be the funniest cozy mystery I’ve ever read.
~The Power of Words
Duffy is an excellent  writer and I’ve loved everything she’s written. Her cozy mystery novels are completely engaging from the first page.

As always the writing in this one was superb and the plot was very good and believable. It was a fast read that flowed well and kept me turning the pages.

Annie Fritz and Elsie Abbot are a humorous look into my probably future. I don’t have any sister, but am quite capable of taking on the role of a couple of ladies who reminded me of the Baldwin sisters on The Waltons.

And I thought
Let's start with 5 stars.  And 'Best of the Year'!
I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.  But Lethal in Old Lace
gets my vote as 'Best of the Year' (so far). Coming in at book 5 in the series you might be concerned you'd be lost.  You won't.
But you will want more and be prepared to buy the rest.
Lethal in old Lace is a stand alone.  It is filled with a
huge cast of characters from town.
This story revolves around the Sleepy Pines Retirement Center.
A home for the seniors in town that can guarantee a little drama, a little romance and a little murder.
So what is up and why are people getting the proverbial 'axe'?
Raegan our little sassy heroine has to save the day and find out
when her next door neighbors who helped her get through her divorce in previous books the elderly sisters Annie and Elsie become the prime suspects when a body is found in their vintage Cadillac which btw is not unlike the one the author is seen driving in the tour banner below this post.
Along with her Auntie Kiki, her new fiance Boone and her hero dog  BW aka Bruce Willis.  Just saying who names a dog
Bruce Willis? Reagan jumps on her scooter with her pink helmet and yellow purse and runs around town snooping and solving the crime (s).  Yes 1 dead body turns into 2. And then there's the
whole scandal at the retirement home which almost burns down in the end.
Are you jumping to buy the book now?  Lethal is a fun and funny ride that will keep you turning the pages. You'll love the characters.  All of them.  Well maybe not the one that did all
crimes.  But everyone else will have you smiling and wanting to come to town and have a drink.

There are some cool recipes at the end.
Martini's of all kinds await you.  Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic.
Sample a few and you'll be happy, happy, happy.
Lethal in Old Lace was the best book I've read all year.

You'll be enchanted, swept away on the twisty road and happily turning the pages and then waiting for the next one.

Because there has to be a wedding coming up soon!
You'll love this one.  I did!

I received a complimentary copy.
