Book Review-Brazen Gambit

51IsYPcbBKL._SY346_
About the book (provided by Promotional Book Tours)

Only a small blip in the lives of lifelong best friends Arnie Fischer and Zellie Morgan, who with no license and even less practical experience form a detective agency. Their fervent desire for a nice little “find stuff” business rapidly devolves into perilous encounters with a mysterious buxom blonde client, a dead body, assorted mobsters, a sleazy detective, a sinister fashion designer, a car dealership owner only vaguely clinging to reality, and yes, a naked ex-girlfriend on the couch. And even more dangerous – navigating a burgeoning romantic relationship. No problem.

Of course, saving Zellie from the clutches of very dangerous people might be a little more difficult…
And I thought
Brazen Gambit book 1 of a new series has all the elements of a great Cozy Mystery. . .
fun characters, a small town, animal lovers, down played sex and violence and humor.

Zellie and Arnie are new P.I.'s and fun characters that get mixed up in their first case.  Which turns out to be bizzare when the client hires them and then disappears.

Zellie and Arnie who are long time friends struggle through trying to solve mysteries and solve their own feelings for each other.
The 'wanna be' P.I's are helped and encouraged in their romantic relationship by townsfolk Marla (the friendly lawyer) Ted (the wacky inventor) and a few others that just either offer coffee  the Moo Mart owner the bagel shop owner and the Chinese takeout
owner.

The story is filled with some twists and turns that keep you a bit confused but interested to read to the end to figure it all out.
If your a lover of Cozy Mysteries check out Brazen Gambit.

I completely enjoyed my introduction to Zellie and Arnie and look forward to reading more in the series.

Book Review-Primrose Lane by Debbie Mason

primrose lane.png

About the book
Love is the best medicine.

Olivia Davenport has finally gotten her life back together. She’s left her painful past behind, started over in a new town, and become Harmony Harbor’s most sought-after event planner. But her past catches up to her when Olivia learns that she’s now guardian of her ex’s young daughter. With her world spinning, Olivia must reconcile her old life with her new one. And she doesn’t have time for her new next door neighbor, no matter how handsome he is.

Olivia may act like she’s got everything under control, but Dr. Finn Gallagher knows a person in over her head when he sees one. He’d really like to be the shoulder she leans on, but Olivia makes it clear she doesn’t want his help. Since he’s returned to town, his waiting room has been full of single women feigning illness. Yet the one woman he’s interested in is avoiding him. But with a little help from some matchmaking widows and a precocious little girl, Finn might just win Olivia over.

And I thought
What a lovely and delightful love story!  I totally enjoyed getting to know the Gallagher clan and the townsfolk of Harmony Harbor!

Harmony Harbor seems like a wonderful place to live or visit.  The B&B the Gallagher family owns would be a must for a holiday.

Wouldn't be great if places like were real?  And well for a few hours they are.  Debbie does a wonderful job of weaving a story/plot,the characters and locale into a place you want to spend your afternoon.

I thought this wasn't a typical contemporary romance.  There was a little mystery involved and some villainy to make this romance  a little more interesting and spellbinding.

The love story is sweet and just what a reader would want.  This was a clean book.  No bedroom scenes.

The characters were fun and goofy and love able.  Finn and Olivia are delightful.  They seem to get off on the wrong foot when Finn suspects Olivia is using drugs.  Once Olivia 'opens' up and tells Finn was is really going on with her they can't help become friends and later fall in love.

The story revolves around Olivia's past with her husband and his mistakes just before his death. When Olivia receives word from his lawyer that he had a daughter and Olivia is named guardian.

Olivia's world is torn apart until Finn helps her accept the child that is dumped into her lap.

Georgina who goes by 'George' arrives as a bit of a 'terror' but it dosen't take long for every to fall in love with the sweet little girl.  Even the grandparents who decide to fight Olivia for custody.

Primrose Lane is book 4 in the Harmony Harbor series featuring the Gallagher family.  Because I read the book on my phone and I didn't really read the description before I read the book I didn't know it was book 4.

I was interested in the rest of the family and wondered if there were other installments.  I don't think reader needs to read the books in order.  But it would be fun!

I loved Primrose Lane and look forward to reading the remainder of the series.  For information on the series and other books visit the authors website.  Click here

Coffee with a character
Sometimes there are characters that just jump off the pages and beg to sit down for a cup of coffee!
There were a few on Primrose Lane that I would have loved to share a cup of coffee with.
But the character today I most want to chat with if I could would just be happy I am sure to lay at my feet and chew on a bone!
Maybe it's because I don't have a dog currently.
Finn's dog Miller was just a hoot!  He was one of those dogs that just acts almost human.  Finn and Miller were a team.  The had a connection.  He was a cool and fun dog and very smart!
I think when I get another dog I'll train him to 'play dead' when
I point a finger at him!  You gotta read Primrose Lane and meet
Miller!

Book Review-Fatal Facade by Wendy Tyson-Character Interview and Giveaway

A Giveaway follows

About the book
Allison Campbell accepted a dream assignment: a visit to the Italian Dolomites to help Hollywood socialite Elle Rose reinvent herself. A guest cottage on the grounds of Elle’s historic castle promises to be a much-needed respite from Allison’s harried life on the Philadelphia Main Line, and the picturesque region, with its sharp peaks, rolling pastures, and medieval churches, is the perfect spot from which to plan her upcoming wedding.

Only this idyllic retreat is anything but peaceful. There are the other visitors—an entourage of back-biting expats and Hollywood VIPs. There’s Elle’s famous rock star father, now a shadowy recluse hovering behind the castle’s closed doors. And then there’s Elle’s erratic behavior. Nothing is as it seems. After a guest plummets to her death from a cliff on the castle grounds, Allison’s trip of a lifetime turns nightmarish—but before she can journey home, Allison must catch a killer.
And I thought
Only a few chapters in I was wishing I read the 3 preceding books.
Not because it was necessary.  But because I was so enthralled with all the characters that I wanted to.

But the good news is I got the opportunity to chat with 'Vaughn'
Allison's business manager and her gave me a little background info.  and even told me which book in the series is his favorite!

Fatal Facade was a fun fast paced suspenseful thriller.  That will keep the reader on the edge of the seat.
The story begins with a flashback when Damian the heir/owner of the fabulous castle falls off a cliff to his death which is classified as an accident.  But was it really?
Allison and fiance Jason and niece Grace arrive to join a large group of visitors.  Each with their own baggage and motives.
And then another 'accident' happens.  And everyone becomes
a suspect.
The reader is swept into a twisty turvey fast paced ride along with
Allison as she rushes to find out what is going on and why.
All the while trying to keeping her loved ones safe.

And when one suspect disappears and then is found buried on the grounds the tension rises and it's a race to find out who dun it.

Fatal Facade was a great suspenseful thriller.  I am looking forward to backtracking and reading the beginning of the series.

Coffee with a character
Hello and welcome to the blog.  I am excited to talk about Fatal Façade and maybe a little bit about your other adventures with Allison.

So before we get into our chat.  Should I call you Christopher or just 'Vaughn'?  Is 'Vaughn' reserved for close friends?   How did 'just Vaughn' come about?
Hi. Thanks for having me here today, Sherry. Please, call me Vaughn.
As a kid, I got in trouble a lot. I always knew I was in for it when my father would say “Mr. Vaughn” with a growl in his voice. My brother—he’s actually my twin—thought that was pretty funny, me being in trouble and all, so he started just calling me Vaughn. It stuck. Only my mother still called me Christopher, and now one of Jamie’s nurses does as well, a woman who has been a mother figure to us both since we lost our mom.

Let’s just jump right in.  How did you first meet/ become acquainted with Allison?
I first met Allison through First Impressions. She’d recently purchased the business from the woman who was her mother-in-law at the time, Mia Campbell. Mia had been Allison’s mentor in the image consulting world, throwing Allison a life line when she was desperate for something to root her.
Anyway, Allison needed some odd jobs done, mostly investigative work on behalf of clients—checking into cheating spouses and the like. I’d some similar work for Mia, so Allison used me. We hit it off, she saw how hard I worked when it came to my clients’ interests, and she offered me a full-time job at the office. My role grew as the business blossomed and as our friendship developed.

Friend and business manager huh? What are your duties?
Anything pertaining to the business, really. I manage the financial end of things, handle appointments, negotiate contracts, deal with clients and the press.  Allison and I work as a team. The only thing I don’t do is consult with clients.

I’m curious—do you think mystery and suspense just kind of follow Allison Around?
Interesting question. No, I don’t. But Allison has a unique perspective. She viewed herself as an outsider for a long time. I think she still does. Despite working and living on the upscale Main Line of Philadelphia, despite all of her wealthy clients and fancy functions, she’s still the young girl who grew up poor under the rule of an abusive father. She’s never been able to outrun her past. I think that perspective, that ability to be on the outside looking in, allows her to see things others miss. Like true motives, and the goodness in people, and BS. Plus, she has a soft heart. She can’t pass up a chance to help out someone in trouble, so she often finds herself in the midst of it.

In Fatal Façade you spent a little time in Italy.   Have you traveled abroad in any of your earlier adventures?
Previous adventures have taken us to Scranton, Pennsylvania and the Finger Lakes in New York, but this was my first trip abroad as part of First Impressions.

Besides your twin brother Jamie is there anyone else in the cast that you’re close to?
Mia. Or I was close to Mia, anyway. That’s a story for another day. And Jason, Allison’s fiancé (and former husband)—we’ve been friends for years.

I jumped into the series with Fatal Façade. And now I am looking for my next
adventure.   If you had to choose/suggest which of your adventures is your favorite?
I’d like to say I enjoyed them all, but the truth is DEADLY ASSETS was pretty harrowing because two clients were missing and my freedom was on the line. DYING BRAND was scary, too, because of the impact on Allison. I don’t think she realizes just how close she came to being a victim.
Of course, it all began with KILLER IMAGE. You don’t have to start at the beginning of our story—each adventure stands on its own—but sometimes it helps if you want the background. KILLER IMAGE was perhaps our darkest hour.

Thanks for the suggestion and thank you for the chat.

This was great. I appreciate your time.

Book Review-No Turning Back-by Tracy Buchanan-Giveaway

A giveaway follows

And I thought
A good fast paced thriller. Full of suspense and twists and turns.

I couldn't help but side with poor Anna as she tries to hold onto normally daily life while trying to figure out 'who did it'.

I couldn't help but be 'annoyed' with the doofus police who can't seem to figure out what is/was going on!  Personally I didn't see why they kept suspecting poor Anna.  But indeed they did!

Then, her friends shun her.

Her x-husband who in my opinion was a bit of a jerk begins to accuse and starts threatening to file for full custody of their sweet 8 month old daughter.  Sighting that their baby is in danger being with her Anna.  Then hello the sweet little baby is actually kidnapped while in His mother's care at her professional day care.  Hello?  That part just got me.

Sadly because I couldn't help but see how all these events could actually happen!

The only person who seems to want to help is Jamie the older brother of the boy she accidentally kills.

But the reader along with Anna is left questioning his intentions!

All this takes the reader through a wild twisty turning ride.
That finishes with a few surprises.

I totally enjoyed reading No Turning Back!   I was intrigued from the beginning to the end.

Designer Dirty Laundry-by Diane Vallere-Book Review

About the book (provided by Great Escape Tours)
                                           Meet Samantha Kidd.
Ex-buyer turned trend specialist turns amateur sleuth! She designed her future with couture precision, but finding the fashion director’s corpse on day one leaves her hanging by a thread. And when the killer fabricates evidence that puts the cops on her hemline, even a chance run-in with hot shoe designer Nick Taylor can’t keep her life from unraveling. She trades high fashion for dirty laundry and reveals a cast of designers out for blood. Now her job, her love life, and her future are put on hold as she tries to expose a diabolical designer before getting marked down for murder.
And I thought
I think I was lucky.  And you will be too! Getting in on book 1 of a series doesn't happen often for me!  I am glad it did with this one.
Join quirky Samantha Kidd on a fun, fast paced, twisty turning ride on the way to a Gala.  Before we get there which btw the book cover depicts Samantha dressed for the Gala Samantha discovers a dead body in the elevator on her way to her first day of work.

Not a great start to a new job when the dead person is her new boss!  When Samantha wakes up from a dead faint her laptop is missing and the hunky Nick past acquaintance is acting all cozy, friendly yet mysterious.

This reader along with Samantha can't decide if Nick is a good guy or a bad guy.  You'll have to read the book to find out.
Just a hint he always seems to happen to appear when Samantha gets into trouble or shortly there after.
White Knight
hmm
Along to help Samantha investigate the murder and hopefully save her job is Eddie who Samantha met briefly in high school.  Eddie helps and cautions Samantha not to get involved as she begins to receive warnings and threats.

Samantha leaves no stone un turned or tree un-climbed to find the answers.

Designer Dirty Laundry was a great start for a new series.
I look forward to seeing this writer develop and to see whats
waiting in book 2 for Samantha.

This book was super clean and I would recommend for any audience.

Cobble Cove Mystery Series-Book 1 & 2 Review

betweenarockandahardplacesolsticecover

About the book (provided by Great Escapes Book Tours)
Librarian Alicia McKinney has put the past behind her…
Two years ago, Alicia discovered both a terrible truth and lasting love with John McKinney in the small town of Cobble Cove, New York. Now a busy mother of twin babies and co-author of a mystery series, Alicia couldn’t be happier.
Alicia’s contentment and safety are challenged…
Walking home alone from the library, Alicia senses someone following her, and on more than one occasion, she believes she is being watched. Does she have a stalker? When the local gift shop is burglarized, the troubling event causes unrest among Alicia and the residents of the quiet town.
John and Alicia receive an offer they can’t refuse…
When John’s sister offers to babysit while she and John take a much-needed vacation in New York City, Alicia is reluctant to leave her children because of the disturbances in Cobble Cove. John assures her the town is safe in the hands of Sheriff-elect Ramsay. Although Alicia’s experience with and dislike of the former Long Island detective don’t alleviate her concern, she and John take their trip.
Alicia faces her worst nightmare…
The McKinneys’ vacation is cut short when they learn their babies have been kidnapped and John’s sister shot. Alicia and John’s situation puts them between a rock and a hard place when the main suspect is found dead before the ransom is paid. In order to save their children, the McKinneys race against the clock to solve a mystery more puzzling than those found in their own books. Can they do it before time runs out?
And I thought
While the story played out I was guessing who dun it!  In my opinion the sign of a good story/plot.

Although I felt the story seemed a little slow for me I enjoyed it.
Books I read on my phone always take me longer to read. I find myself at each page turn itching for the book to speed up.  Get on with the crime.  I cheer for the sleuths and I am anxious for the criminals to be caught.

I was not disappointed.  Once the break in, shooting and kidnapping occurs the reader is on a fast ride to the end.

I did feel like there was a lot of background information which kind of made the story drag on for me.  The writer gives detail into the happenings in book 1 to set the pace for the reader who hasn't read book 1.

Book Review-Duplicity-by Jane Haseldine

About the book (provided by TLC tours)
• Hardcover: 352 pages
• Publisher: Kensington Publishing Corporation (March 28, 2017)
In Jane Haseldine’s new novel of riveting suspense, Detroit newspaper reporter Julia Gooden is up against the city’s most devious criminal—and her own painful past.
Julia Gooden knows how to juggle different lives. A successful crime reporter, she covers the grittiest stories in the city while raising her two young boys in the suburbs. But beneath that accomplished façade is another Julia, still consumed by a tragedy that unfolded thirty years ago when her nine-year-old brother disappeared without a trace.
Julia’s marriage, too, is a balancing act, as she tries to rekindle her relationship with her husband, Assistant District Attorney David Tanner, while maintaining professional boundaries. David is about to bring Nick Rossi to trial for crimes that include drug trafficking, illegal gambling, and bribery. But the story becomes much more urgent when a courthouse bomb claims several victims—including the prosecution’s key witness—and leaves David critically injured.
Though Julia is certain that Rossi orchestrated the attack, the case against him is collapsing, and his power and connections run high and wide. With the help of Detective Raymond Navarro of the Detroit PD, she starts following a trail of blackmail, payback, and political ambition, little imagining where it will lead. Julia has risked her career before, but this time innocent lives—including her children’s—hang in the balance, and justice may come too late to save what truly matters…
And I thought...
As I thought about what I wanted to say about this book I began to think about the main characters Julia and her husband the D.A. David Tanner.  I thought about the suspense and twists and turns in the story.
Then I thought about the title and how it fit into the characters and the story.
And I realized the definition of 'Duplicity' tells it all. . .
du·plic·i·ty
d(y)o͞oˈplisədē/
noun
  1. 1.
    deceitfulness; double-dealing.

The story line is filled with characters that are dishonest, double-dealing, deceitful etc. etc.  which for me made for a good story.

Not necessarily a story that had me interested in becoming friends with or have coffee with a few of the characters.

I enjoyed the story.  It was a little slow in the beginning but there was a steadiness that kept me interested enough to stick with it till the tempo sped up to the roller coaster ending.

I have no desire to 'spill the beans.'  I just suggest if you like a good suspenseful story you'll enjoy Duplicity.

There are a few bedroom seems.  In fact the story begins with a scene that some people might read and stop then and there.
That is not the theme of the book.  Its a short part that sets the story into motion.   There are a few descriptions of some sexual acts further into the story that are described by the police as a video tape is watched while the are gathering evidence.   And there is a little graphic detail in some of the crimes that are committed.
This didn't bother me.  I just mention it because some people might wish to have a heads up.

Overall I really liked Duplicity and look forward to reading additional books in the Julie Gooden series.

I received a complimentary copy from TLC book tours.

Coffee with a character
I had a hard time choosing the character that I wanted to chat with. It was easy to know who I didn't want to 'get to know'.  And actually it wasn't difficult know who to choose.  The hard part was choosing 1.  So I didn't choose 1.  I chose 3.
Never done before. Probably never done again.  But here goes in no particular order.
Character #1 is Salvator Gallo I suspect that if I was to sit, chat and consume some sort of beverage with 'Gallo' who is kind of a 'mob type' fellow but ends help helping Julie.  He just seems like the character that I would love to see in another book.
Character #2 is an informant that has helped Julie in the past and comes to her rescue in Duplicity he makes a short appearance but I was fascinated with his character. Tyrone is a rapper that is
wheelchair bound.  He has connections and associates that he utilizes to help get Julie out of some jams.  And he 'knows' and has 'information' that helps Julie in her investigation.
The last Character that I would love to share probably a cup of tea or coffee with is the neighbor/baby sitter Helen.  Helen is a grandmotherly type woman that jumps in and helps with her children.  Helen covers the home front for Julie when business and investigations call Julie away.

About the series
In Jane Haseldine’s gripping and brilliantly crafted debut, a reporter searching for her kidnapped son must untangle the connection to her brother’s long-ago disappearance.

Julia Gooden remembers nothing about the worst night of her life. Thirty years ago, her nine-year-old brother Ben—the person who promised he would always protect her—was abducted from the room they shared. Try as she might to recall any clue or detail, there is a black hole where Julia’s memories of that terrible event should be.

Now a crime reporter at a Detroit newspaper, Julia tries to give others the closure she’s never found. But guilt and grief over Ben’s disappearance have left her fearful that whoever took her brother is going to come back. Nowhere seems safe—not the city, not the suburbs, not even the secluded lake town where she plans to raise her children. And then, on the anniversary of Ben’s disappearance, Julia’s worst fears are realized when her two-year-old son, Will, is snatched from his bed.

Convinced that the crimes are related, Julia tries to piece together memories from her final day with Ben. Are the sudden reminders of her brother clues that will lead her to her son’s abductor, or merely coincidence? Julia knows she has hours at best to find Will alive, but the deeper she digs, the more personal and terrifying the battle becomes, and an undying promise may be her only hope of saving herself and her son.

Single Malt Murder-Melinda Mullet-Book Review-Giveaway

Scroll down to enter the Giveaway
About the book (provided by Great Escapes Book Tours)
When Abi inherits her uncle’s quaint and storied single malt distillery, she finds herself immersed in a competitive high-stakes business that elicits deep passions and prejudices. An award-winning photojournalist, Abi has no trouble capturing the perfect shot—but making the perfect shot is another matter. When she starts to receive disturbing, anonymous threats, it’s clear that someone wants her out of the picture. But Abi’s never been one to back down from a fight.
Arriving on the scene with her whisky-loving best friend, Patrick, and an oversized wheaten terrier named Liam, Abi seems to put everyone in the bucolic village on edge—especially her dour but disturbingly attractive head distiller. Acts of sabotage and increasingly personal threats against Abi make it clear that she is not welcome. When one of Abi’s new employees is found floating facedown in a vat of whisky, Abi is determined to use her skills as an investigative journalist to identify the cold-blooded killer and dispense a dram of justice before he strikes again. But distilling truth from lies is tricky, especially when everyone seems to have something to hide.

And I thought...
Definitely a great beginning and a promising start.  I enjoyed this debut novel by Melinda Mullet.  Congratulations Melinda for keeping me spell bound and intrigued.

Although I really enjoyed this book it took me awhile to read.
Perhaps because I was reading on my phone which is usually a much slower read for me.

I enjoyed the mystery and suspense of the story.  As I read I wondered about the main character Abi the main/sub character Phillip her friend and business associate.  And I was intrigued with Abi's uncle.

As I read I couldn't help but wonder if the the characters were introduced in a preceding book.  Which I realized when I was finished reading; this was not the case since Single Malt Murder is a debut novel and the beginning of a series. This was not a negative for me in fact I felt like I wanted to know more about the characters.  I look forward to and hope that these characters history is revealed in future installments.

I enjoyed the story and suspense.  I really enjoyed the topic and the research/knowledge that the author put into the subject of
producing Whiskey.  It was very interesting.

I felt a part of the story as the reader going along with Abi as she investigates the murder and as she is stalked and ends up running for her life as well.

There were great twists and turns that keep the reader engaged and interested and waiting to find out 'Whodunit'.

Did I figure it out?  I had my suspicions.

Single Malt Murder was a fun and cozy read.  I look forward to the chance to read future books in the series.

Trust My Heart-Carol J. Post- Litfuse-Book Review

About the book (provided by Litfuse)
Grant McAllister arrives in Murphy, North Carolina, with one aim: to sell his inherited property and leave as quickly as possible.
The big-city lawyer has no interest in his late, estranged grandparents or the dilapidated mansion he just acquired. After his high-profile divorce, he should be avoiding perky reporters, too. But Jami Carlisle is honest, funny, and undeniably appealing.
After breaking up with her safe-but-smothering boyfriend, Jami is determined to ace her first big assignment. A story about the McAllister estate is too intriguing to ignore—much like its handsome, commitment-phobic heir. Thanks to her digging, the pieces of Grant’s fraught family history are gradually fitting into place, but also upending all his old beliefs.

The two draw closer as they share their dreams, until misread signals and misunderstandings begin to test their trust. But in the unspoiled beauty of the Smoky Mountains, there’s healing and forgiveness to be found. And for Grant, this unplanned detour may be just what’s needed to finally guide him home…

What I thought . . .
I had mixed feelings about this book.  I struggled a bit to finish it.
By the time I was over 3/4's through it I began to really be interested.

It is filled with interesting and quirky characters that tend to 'make' the story.

This is a typical romance.  Boy meets girl.  Boy doesn't want to
get involved etc., etc., etc.  Finally they get involved then something causes them to split., etc., etc., etc.
Predictable.  Yes.
But fun and a bit humorous.
It also has a great message.
As I finished reading I honestly realized I really did like this story.
I wasn't too attracted to Grant the main man.  I frankly thought he just needed to 'give it up' and move on.  After a broken marriage he struggles to 'move on'.

Until he meets Jami in the small town where his parents grew up.
Jami's character is sweet 'a bit' quirky and honestly good.
She has some baggage and hidden dreams that come out.

Grant encourages Jami to strive to fulfill her dreams.  She encourages him too.

Both their dreams are fulfilled by the end which is good.  But I was left wanting more.

Although the author; I admit did a great job of tying the romance and the subplots together into a fun story I would have enjoyed the book alot more if there had been an Epilogue where the couples dreams come to fruition.  Their dreams were a huge part of their stories and their characters.

I would love to see a series.  I was captured more by the sub characters than the main characters.

I enjoyed reading Trust My Heart and would read more if there was a series.

I visited the authors page after writing this review.  I was thrilled to see that Trust My Heart is indeed book one of  the Murphy Series.  I wish that there had been some indication in the book that there will be a series.

I received a complimentary copy from Litfuse.

Life Creative-Book Review With Giveaway

The Giveaway is all the way at the bottom!
About the book (provided by Litfuse)

Life Creative: Inspiration for Today's Renaissance Mom(Kregel, September 2016)

What was God thinking when He created you creative and then gave you children?

Creative moms often feel as though they must lay their passions down. But God had something special in mind for the creative woman during this intense season of mothering.

In this Pinterest age of handcrafted children's parties, Instagram photos of beautifully decorated homes, and blogs filled with poetry and prose, it is clear that we are in the midst of a brand new artistic renaissance. Not one born in Italian cathedrals or Harlem jazz clubs, but rather in kitchens, nurseries, and living rooms around the world. Mothers, working in the cracks and crevices of each hectic day, are adorning the world with their gifts, and they're showing all of us the beauty of this Life Creative.

In this book, you'll learn:
-Why the world needs your art
-How this Life Creative begins at home
-When art can turn a profit
-Your part in this modern day Renaissance
Life Creative paints the stories of moms, just like you, who are fitting their inspired lives into the everyday, ordinary places of motherhood. Women like home decorator Melissa Michaels and jewelry designer Lisa Leonard, author Angie Smith, recording artist Ellie Holcomb, and many more.

And I Thought...
A book filled with helpful inspiration for women.  Although the target audience is busy moms
I think that all women could enjoy it and get a great deal of encouragement.
I think we as women no matter what season we're in can use a little encouragement.
However I feel that the target audience could be bogged down a little.
The book is filled with stories, poetry, quotes and scripture.
I liked the illustrations between parts there were drawings of different things like:
as stand mixer, a whisk,  a music note, a paint pallet, a feather, a camera and more.
The lovely paisley cover design is repeated on every page of the book.
I point these features out because I thought the book was long. It was a lot to read.
The addition of the artwork just makes it longer.
Each chapter is over 10 pages long.  An actually is a lot to read.
It isn't the type of book I feel you can enjoy when you only have small snippets of time in your schedule.   I know when I was young mom and even now with  the busy schedule that I have that I prefer a book that is written with shorter sections to read.
There is great content.
