About the book (provided by Lola's Book Tours)
No promises. No expectations. Just one night on a paradise island that could mean everything.
Nineteen-year-old Cam has a metric ton of emotional baggage and is in no mood to unload them on anyone. After her parents’ marriage imploded, stress-free is the only way she wants her life to be. And what could be more freeing than spending the summer on Boracay? Absolutely nothing… until she bumps heads with Hunter, the hot drummer who screams incoming heartbreak from a mile away.
Hunter has grand plans, none of which include angry-at-the-world Cam, best friend to the girl he always thought he’d end up with. He likes his life steady, thank you very much. But steady has now become synonymous with boring. His grand plans don’t seem so grand anymore. So when Cam comes home to Iloilo City and reaches out to him, he surprises himself when the one answer he can think of is… yes. Definitely yes.
Sometimes, complications are the only things that make sense.

Sharing something a little different a Cover Reveal for a new
steamy romance.  Check it out.  (I have not read this book)

About the book
Sienna Keller saw how men used her mother, and from an early age she swore she’d never allow it to happen to her. So when she meets smooth-talking billionaire Gavin Crane, who uses his connections to help her art career, she resolves to keep things strictly professional—no matter how gorgeous he is.

Gavin might be the son of the head of the Kavanagh organized crime family, but he wants no part of that life. It’s important to him to prove to Sienna that he’s a good guy. But when she winds up in the hospital with a gunshot wound, he is driven to exact revenge. His father agrees to provide security to watch over her as well as find the man who shot her, but at a cost—Gavin must come back into the family business.

As Sienna begins to let her guard down around Gavin, seeing the kind, caring man he’s always wanted her to see, his secrets begin to pile up. Has she done the one thing she vowed never to do—trusted her heart to the wrong man?

A Room with a Brew by Joyce Tremel-Book Review/Giveaway

About the book
It’s Oktoberfest in Pittsburgh, and brewpub owner Maxine “Max” O’Hara is prepping for a busy month at the Allegheny Brew House. To create the perfect atmosphere for the boozy celebration, Max hires an oompah band. But when one of the members from the band turns up dead, it’s up to Max to solve the murder before the festivities are ruined.
Adding to the brewing trouble, Candy, Max’s friend, is acting suspicious… Secrets from her past are fermenting under the surface, and Max must uncover the truth to prove her friend’s innocence. To make matters worse, Jake’s snooty ex-fiancée shows up in town for an art gallery opening, and she’ll be nothing but a barrel of trouble for Max.
And I thought
A slightly different setting for a Cozy read (for me)  instead of a quiet, quaint and charming little town we are taken to the outskirts of Pittsburgh.

I found it to be an interesting kind kept me on the edge of my seat page turner from the very beginning.  Chapter 1 had me interested and turning the pages all the way to the end.

Room with a Brew is a fun story/themed filled with interesting characters.   I couldn't help but think of the Umpa Band in the movie Home Alone and picture John Candy as I read.

The cast of characters friends of Max help her as she unravels clues and marks suspects of the list of Who Dun It.

I enjoyed the Oktoberfest theme and learning more about it.
The food and fun of the Oktoberfest theme made an enjoyable
reading experience with the polka dancing and German style food.
The combination Brew house and pub was a fun aspect and the recipes included in the book added to the overall experience.

Room with a Brew is a part of a series the characters are introduced and the story is written well so that a new reader to the series is charmed along the way and becomes a fan.

I enjoyed my introduction to the Brewhouse series and look forward to reading more.

Book Review and Giveaway-Crepe Factor by Laura Childs

CREPE FACTOR
About the book (provided by Great Escapes Tours)
The Winter Market in the French Quarter is in full swing, but murder isn’t taking a holiday in the latest from the New York Times bestselling author of Parchment and Old Lace
The holidays are a busy time for scrapbook shop owner Carmela Bertrand—but not so hectic that she doesn’t have time to enjoy browsing the booths at the Winter Market with her best friend Ava. The last thing the ladies expect to see is a lurching man stabbed by a serving fork, dying in front of them.
The victim is loathed restaurant critic Martin Lash, who posted his scathing reviews on the Glutton for Punishment website. And the prime suspect is New Orleans restauranteur Quigg Brevard—who was seen giving the critic a tongue-lashing minutes before someone stuck a fork in him. An old flame of Carmela, Quigg asks for her help, which does not please her current beau, Detective Edgar Babcock, to say the least.
Before her relationship is the next victim, Carmela needs to find a murderer who had no reservations about punishing the culinary curmudgeon…
Scrapbooking tips and recipes included!
And I thought
Charming and delightful.  Just the cover speaks charming to me.
I was drawn into the little shop and fictitious events and shops of the French Quarter in New Orleans.  I wanted to go for a visit!

This is only the second opportunity I have had the chance to read the books by Laura Childs.

I really enjoyed Pekoe Most Poison from the Tea Shop Mysteries Series.

I knew that Crepe Factory would be just as good.  And it was!

The characters in this series are charming, delightful and quirky.
Even though it is #14 in the series I wasn't lost or left confused with the story.

Each of the characters are introduced into the story smoothly making Crepe Factor a very enjoyable read.

Much to the chagrin of Carmela's current boyfriend Babcock (the police detective) Carmela the main character gets caught up in trying to clear her ex-boyfriend Quigley's name when he becomes the primary suspect in a murder.

The reader is taken on a tour of the quaint restaurants and events associated with the holiday season as she parties with her best friend Ava.  And while they enjoy the festivities they do a little sleuthing.

Since the victim isn't a very friendly guy there is no shortage
of suspects.

Eventually with the help of some goofy Cajun characters all the pieces of the puzzle fit together and the real killer(s) are revealed and Quigley is exonerated.

Babcock finally shares his real feelings with Carmela and all ends well.  At least until the next crime.

I enjoyed Crepe Factory and give it my hard to get 5 stars rating.

A Love Restrained Release Day Blitz

About the book (provided by Pure Textuality PR)
Old secrets, new threats…What are they willing to sacrifice?
Philadelphia police officer Kylee Parker is dedicated to protecting and serving. She sees the work in absolutes: right and wrong, black and white, good guys and bad guys. That is, until she chases a drug dealer into a dead-end alley and finds the bad boy she had a painful crush on throughout her teen years has turned into a more dangerous and more attractive man.
Jayson Donovan knows he doesn’t deserve someone as good as Kylee Parker. As the right hand man to a local drug-pushing mobster, he’s solidly on the wrong side of Kylee’s moral compass. But he can’t help reaching for her time and again when he knows he shouldn’t.
Even when his secrets threaten them both.

Book Review-In Control by John W. Mefford-Tour With Giveaway

About the book (provided by Beck Valley Book Tours)
A child is kidnapped, sending a mother into a panicked frenzy. It’s one of a dozen such crimes across central Texas, targeting those who live behind the pristine brick walls of master planned communities.

Ivy Nash hunts the kidnappers, but she quickly sees this case morph into something else entirely different…more dangerous, more twisted than anyone could imagine.

At the same time, the father of Ivy’s long-time friend pleads with her to do what no friend would ever want. But what she learns could shatter their worlds. An international drug trafficking ring. A professional hit. And one cover-up after another.

Secrets from the past are exposed, but how can Ivy separate reality from a smokescreen of falsehoods? With lives on the line, she can’t fail. The clock is ticking…
And I thought
I didn't realize I was getting into book 5 of this series.  When I was offered the option to read and review In Control I jumped on it mainly because it was toted as a Thriller which is my favorite kind of book to read.
I love the fast paced suspence.  I love a good book with little or no language and very mainly closed door romance scenes.
I was not disappointed.

Even thought In Control was book 5 I was not confused or lost in the storyline.  The characters were introduced and all seemed to meld together within the story(s)

Within minutes there was a kidnapping and the suspense started.
There were a couple of different storylines but they meddled together seamlessly.

I enjoyed meeting each of the characters.  I did question how
Ivy ended up with a 17 year old partner.  Cristina does have a mouth on her so there is a little language which didn't bother me because that was her character as a 17 year old.   I am sure that the relationship between Ivy and Cristina is played out in a previous book.

There are other characters that are a central part of the story.
Stan the policeman that Ivy has a working relationship with.
His cousin Nick comes in from Boston and helps with the investigation.

And then there's Zahara Ivy's bestie that is planning a wedding that daddy dear isn't too keen on.  Zeke the fiance might just not be who and what he tries to claim to be.

Admittedly part way through I was a little disappointed who one of the villains turned out to be.  One tended to work a little warm spot into this reader.    But I was satisfied at the end when I got an inclining that maybe the supposed bad guy has a change of heart.

I can't wait for book 6!
