And I thought 
Where do I begin? There were things I loved about this plot.  There were things that were just predictable.   

I couldn't help but pick up on that Gina just happens to befriend 'besties' that go a little nuts.  

Gina is torn between her feelings for homicide detective Brent and the handsome millionaire Leone.

I couldn't help but root for Leon.  He just 'got me'.  He was patient and romantic.  

Brent was just brooding and a but unapproachable. 

And then there are the 'besties' that have their own agendas.  

I enjoyed the plot line surrounding the restaurant. 

Sugar and Spice and All Those Lies was a fast read.  I was swept along wanting to find out what would happen.  And ultimately who would win Gina's heart.  

I enjoyed this book.

And I thought 

From page one I was not really sure how I would like this one 
(Don't stop here.  Read on.  I loved it! 5 Stars)   

Basically because initially I just didn't like Jack.  

I guess I didn't have the same attractions for him as Katie did. 

But in all fairness I knew a little more about him than she did initially.

In the beginning a little of Jack's current personality is revealed.  

A womanizer.  A jerk.  Just getting by.  A drunk.  And probably more than I can't find words to describe. 

But, very quickly Jack grows on you.  Even though he is still only 

going to the Academy just so he can have a job, underneath it all he is a really good guy.  

A really good guy that needs a break. A really good guy that grew 

up in a very, very sad and bad situation.  Which ultimately is the cause of his attitudes toward women and drinking himself into oblivion. 

In enters Katie from Ireland.  

The two meet and  immediately they are attracted to each other.  Strangers collide and a spark is ignited.  

The two plan to meet again the following night.  And then drama comes into play when Katie just happens to be the visiting 

arms trainer at the academy. Which means technically Jack is  her student.  

Which throws Katie 'the professional' off.  But it's not long before 

Jack with his experience 'womanizing' manages to persuade Katie to spend the few days she has in NYC with him as 'His girl'.  

Indecent Exposure turned out to be a sweet romance.  

The characters are all likeable. Even Jack once you get to know him.  Actually once you get to know him he is kind of  'perfect'.

There are a few other characters that a apart of the story.  Jack's best friend Danika and room mate (who Katie is afraid is one of Jack's girls) and another room mate Charlie.  

I look forward to reading the next installment featuring Danika.
And I am going to go back and read book 1. 

This series is a keeper!  And well Jack's a keeper too!

Character Guest Post: Vangie Vale, from the Matchbaker Mysteries

A part-time baker who solves crime. Sounds like something from a Hallmark movie, right? But I must admit, I don’t think of myself as a crime solver. I think of myself, first, as a pastor, and second, as a baker, and third, as a human, being involved in people’s lives because I care about them. And when something happens to someone I care about, you can bet your hat I’m going to get involved.

I was always one of those kids who had a hard time sitting on the sidelines when kids were getting bullied on the playground. Even as a young person, I had an overdeveloped sense of right and wrong—which is probably what made me want to be a pastor—and there was nothing that bothered me more than injustice. I want people to pay for their crimes, and I don’t want innocent people to have to pay for things they didn’t do.

Naturally, this has led me to run-ins with the police on more than one occasion. A couple of times back in North Carolina, before I moved to Montana, and then a couple of times here in Saint Agnes. But every time I get invested in an investigation, it’s because there’s some kind of justice that isn’t being done. Yet.

And if I’m honest, of course, part of the reason I get involved is to make sure that the people who are under my care—the people in my parish—are treated fairly, because their lawyers or the law enforcement or even their own families, sometimes, don’t have fairness on top of their radar.

They should, though. Fairness should be priority number one.

Injustice bothers me on a cosmic scale, of course, in addition to a personal one. But in general, I like for people who do bad things to get what’s coming to them. This is why I don’t believe in karma. Because rarely do people who do bad things actually have to pay for what they did wrong. Almost always, the people who have to pay are innocent of those wrongs, and the evil person skates by with no consequences. Someone else is paying the “karma bill” for their wrong-doing. But I consider it my job to see that justice is done.

Especially where the law is concerned, because as much as we’d like to believe it is, justice is never blind. Never. It should be. Idealists want to believe it is. It is not. Someone has to stand up and make the injustices of the world right. And if I’m the only person ever doing so, I will do that until the day I die.

And I thought 

I missed book 1.  Book #2 is a stand alone but the characters are engaging and beg you to go back.

Girl In The Gallery was not what I expected.  It is a good 'ole 

mystery.  You'll be guessing to the end!  

You'll probably be on pins and needles too.

I was surprised that the book dealt with teenage social issues. 

So if things like teenage bullying and peer pressure are 'triggers' you might be cautious.  

I thought this was a great read and kept me guessing.  

I look forward to the chance to read book 1!
